Qualifications

Lead teachers should have prior hands on experience working with children in a group setting. Individuals should have previous experience planning and implementing age appropriate lesson plans, evaluating the classroom program, and completing child assessments. Individuals should be capable of supervising and guiding associate staff within the classroom program and providing overall care and supervision of children. Lead teachers shall be of responsible character and suitable to meet the needs of children.


Our Lead teachers must meet or exceed the State of Michigan Child Care Licensing Requirements. Individuals must be at least 19 years of age and have earned a high school diploma or GED. All of our lead staff must have a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), an Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or other child related field.

Associate teachers are required to have previous work history and practical life experiences working with young children. Individuals must be at least 17 years of age. Formal educational training or certifications are beneficial to associate teachers. Associate caregivers shall be of responsible character and suitable to meet the needs of children.

Clearance and Background Checks

All Beginners Inn Staff and volunteers are screened prior to having contact with the children of Beginners Inn. Anyone connected to Beginners Inn including, Employees and volunteers, must have a Comprehensive Background Check completed from the Child Care Background Check System (CCBC).


CPR & First Aid

Beginners Inn requires that all staff receive and maintain current Blood Borne Pathogen, Basic First Aid and C.P.R certification.
